C2 – Blended mobility for learners

Between the 22nd and the 24th of November 2021, the C2 Blended mobility of school learners was conducted online for the Erasmus+ project: ” Robotics through sign language: Ensuring access and engagement of students with disabilities (deaf or with hearing impairment) to the digital world of coding and robotics”.
On the first day, Emphasys Centre went through Scratch Coding with explanations and examples. Then the students had the opportunity to create their own code on Scratch by completing exercises, working in groups, and taking part in competitions.
On the second day, Lego Boost and its different robot versions (guitar, cat) were introduced by the Istituto dei Sordi di Torino I. Following the introduction, some Lego Boost coding examples were presented to the students. After that, NCSR “DEMOKRITOS” , presented some more advanced Lego Boost constructions like Gears and Catapult. The students had the opportunity to build those 2 constructions and complete challenges with the catapult at the end of the session as well.
On the 3rd and final day, an induction to Lego Mindstorm took place which includes quizzes related to Lego Mindstorm commands that were given to the students. Finally, Społeczna Akademia Nauk guided a discussion on the impact of robots and computers on the lives of people and the new generation.
