Emphasys Centre organised the ME of the Erasmus+ Project “ROBOTICS4DEAF: Robotics through Sign Language: Ensuring Access & Engagement of Students with Disabilities (Deaf or With Hearing Impairment) to the World of Coding & Robotics, on the 30th of November 2021 at Kentro AMEA Ayios Lazaros, in Larnaca, Cyprus. The event was attended by 25 students, 4 teachers and the principal.
In the first part, Demetra Orthodoxou (Project Coordinator at Emphasys Centre) gave a short presentation about Emphasys Centre and then she presented the project overview and the first result of the project: ROBOTICS4DEAF INCLUSIVE INDEX. Then, Mr. Nicholas Moudouros presented the second result of the project that consists of the ROBOTICS4DEAF training material. Mrs. Chrystalla Thrasyvoulou had the opportunity to present live the eLearning platform developed as part of the third output as well as the assessment procedure and the eco-system of Open Badges. At the end of the first part, Demetra Orthodoxou presented the last output, ROBOTICS4DEAF A-Z Guide which can be used for further exploitation of the project’s results.
After the presentations, the participants were divided into groups and had hands-on experience with the Lego Boost robots while they were implementing different tasks. Lastly, an open discussion was initiated by Mr.Nicholas Moudouros with the active participation of both the students and teachers.
